| About the Mythical Beast Series |
This series utilizes the Ukiyo-e style to depict the forms of each divine beast. The term “Ukiyo” originates from the Buddhist term “ukiyo”(うきよ), meaning the sorrows of life, which later evolved to mean the fleeting nature of the world. This series presents each divine beast in the basic creative form of “Musha-e,” one of the Ukiyo-e schools from the Edo period. Each divine beast is partially adorned with armor from Japan’s Warring States period, combined with traditional weapons, symbolizing guardians that protect every blessing.

With over two hundred years of history, Highland Park is one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, located in the Orkney Islands and also the northernmost distillery in the world. The Orkney Islands maintain an average temperature of 2~16 degrees Celsius year-round, and this consistent climate is one of the key conditions for Highland Park to maintain the quality of its whisky.
