Leonardo da Vinci –《The Battle of Anghiari》

|The Renaissance Series|

During the late 15th to early 16th century, the Renaissance in Italy reached its peak, marking a golden age in the art world. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raffaello were the most renowned painters of the era, often referred to as the “Three Masters of the High Renaissance.” Their works reflected the duality of human nature—justice and evil—infused with the spirit of conflict and struggle.

Even today, war continues, and we remain entangled in its grasp, longing and praying for peace.

The lost mural The Battle of Anghiari is one of Leonardo da Vinci’s greatest works. This Renaissance masterpiece captures the heart of war, depicting the terrifying entanglement of soldiers and horses in agony. Through this chaotic struggle, da Vinci reveals his perception of human nature’s darker side, exposing fear in all its grotesque forms. War forces people to wear masks of evil, leading them toward destruction, much like the ill-fated history of the Littlemill Distillery.

|Distillery Introduction|

Founded in 1722, Littlemill is one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. Despite surviving multiple changes in ownership and modernization efforts, it ultimately fell victim to a devastating fire. Its past glories are now only preserved in its remaining casks, reminding us of the value of rarity. This 30-year-old Littlemill single malt, with its perfectly balanced sweetness, mirrors da Vinci’s pursuit of the golden ratio—offering a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
