Michelangelo 《The Torment of Saint Anthony》

|The Renaissance Series|

During the late 15th to early 16th century, the Renaissance in Italy reached its peak, marking a golden age in the art world. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raffaello were the most renowned painters of the era, often referred to as the “Three Masters of the High Renaissance.” Their works reflected the duality of human nature—justice and evil—infused with the spirit of conflict and struggle.

Even today, war continues, and we remain entangled in its grasp, longing and praying for peace.

Michelangelo 《The Torment of Saint Anthony》
Michelangelo’s masterpiece illustrates humanity’s lifelong struggle against external darkness and inner demons, reflecting the ultimate battle of the Renaissance. His robust artistic style parallels the deep, complex peatiness of Port Ellen whisky. As Michelangelo once wrote, “Art transcends time and death, making us immortal. Whether in stone or color, centuries later, people will see your beauty and my sorrow, proving I never betrayed my devotion.

|Distillery Introduction|
Founded in 1825, Port Ellen gained fame after entering the U.S. market in 1836 but closed in 1930 due to Prohibition. Later revived by Diageo, the distillery eventually shut down, yet its delicate, smoky whisky remains sought after. Limited releases of preserved Port Ellen casks continue to sell out instantly, keeping its legacy alive.
