Raffaello 《Saint George and the Dragon》

|The Renaissance Series|

During the late 15th to early 16th century, the Renaissance in Italy reached its peak, marking a golden age in the art world. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raffaello were the most renowned painters of the era, often referred to as the “Three Masters of the High Renaissance.” Their works reflected the duality of human nature—justice and evil—infused with the spirit of conflict and struggle.

Even today, war continues, and we remain entangled in its grasp, longing and praying for peace.

Raffaello – Saint George and the Dragon

If Leonardo da Vinci was a true polymath, then Raphael was a born genius. Despite his short life, he was revered as one of the three great masters of the Renaissance and honored as the “Divine Painter.” His art bridged tradition and innovation, making him not only a brilliant Renaissance painter but also a quintessential embodiment of humanist ideals. In Western art, Saint George symbolizes justice, slaying the dragon as a metaphor for evil. The praying maiden reflects humanity’s enduring hope for salvation—just as the world longs for victory over adversity.

|Distillery Introduction|
In 1992, at the request of the current owner of Da Mhile Distillery in the UK, Springbank Distillery used organic barley to produce the world’s first batch of organic single malt whisky—limited to just 15 casks. The founder of Aqua Vitae secured one, making this whisky as rare and refined as Raphael’s art—soft, full-bodied, and beautifully balanced.
